Veterinary Permit to Import Horses

Import permit must be submitted at least 21 days before the arrival of the horse/s.
Importation of horses from the European Commission should be referred to the Animal Health Department.
Import only from countries approved to export to EU countries.
Permits are valid for one month from the date of issue.
Application can be submitted for multiple types.
Horses from the GCC may be imported by land, all other horses must be imported by air.
The Ministry may require additional requirements depending on species, place of origin or any other reason.
The Ministry may specify the entry port.
Veterinary Quarantine Department may refuse.
The horses are subject to quarantine for 28 days from arrival.

Approval of the permits shall be within two hours of the application, during the official working hours and for seven days a week (All days).
Release of Shipment round the clock, non-stop 24 hours; i.e. the release of the shipment submitted shall be within two hours of submitting the goods for the inspection of the relevant authority.
